How It Works
Mimi will visit your home and discuss the areas that you would like to organize. She will then create an action plan, and you can choose to implement the plan with or without her guidance. The consultation lasts for an hour or two, depending on your goals. At this point, we will schedule the things we need to do to eliminate the clutter in your home.
We will then implement the action plan. In order to achieve your goals, we will work together to sort items so you can see everything you own. From there, we’ll talk about what needs to be kept, donated, thrown away, or recycled. Keep in mind that you make the decisions and that she is only there to guide you. At the same time, you will learn how to maintain your organization systems.
Finally, you can schedule maintenance sessions whenever needed. It’s common to fall back into old habits, so it’s okay to get refresher courses when you need them.

The first step to getting organized is acknowledging that you may benefit from having someone help you stay focused and motivated throughout the entire process. Mimi can help you reach your home organizing goals in a more efficient manner and teach you methods to stay organized for years to come.
Please don’t be embarrassed to have her see your home. As an organizing expert, Mimi is focused on the solution and not the problem. Her goal is to help you find peace with your things, your space, and your time. Everything is confidential, and never judgmental. In keeping with this confidentiality and respect for clients, Design Solutions rarely posts pictures from organizing jobs on this site. References are available upon request.
On the contrary, it’s very common for clients to be perfectionists that struggle with organization. This is because many don’t want to start the project until they can do it “right” or “perfectly.”
You may have been organized in the past, but a life change may have left you overwhelmed and unable to take the next step forward. There’s no right way to organize. It is a process, and the way that works best for you is the right way.
That depends on what your goals are for the project. Some spaces can be organized in a day, while others require more time. It also depends on how quickly you are able to make decisions on whether to keep or let things go.
We’ll want to sort through the items you have before purchasing supplies. It is helpful to have white and bag trash bags on hand and possibly boxes. Mimi will let you know for sure at the initial consultation.
